To the Men Who’ve Been Silently Holding It Together.

As Mental Health Awareness Week draws to a close, I want to offer a few words for the men – the ones who’ve kept the wheels turning, who’ve worn the brave face, and who’ve maybe not been asked often enough:
“And how are you, really?”
Midlife can feel like standing in the middle of a quiet storm.
Maybe you’ve achieved a lot on the outside… but inside?
It’s all a bit hollow, confusing, or just flat.
You might be navigating relationship shifts, ageing parents, health scares, changes at work – and all the while expected to just "crack on".
Emotional resilience isn’t about stuffing it down.
It’s about being real with what’s going on inside.
You’re not weak for feeling low.
You’re not failing because you feel lost.
You’re human.
Men in midlife are carrying grief, pressure, and questions no one warned them would hit this hard.
And you deserve support. You deserve connection.
You deserve space to feel without judgement.
So if your heart’s heavy, your spark’s dimmed, or the silence is deafening…
Let this be your reminder: You matter. Your mental health matters. You’re not alone.
Take the walk. Make the call. Talk to your mates – the real talk.
See a coach or therapist if you need a safe space to talk.
And for the love of yourself – drop the armour.
You were never meant to carry it forever.
Your worth isn't in how much you do.
It’s in who you are.
Still here. Still trying. Still worthy.
With deep respect,
Sally x
