Cuddling with a partner has numerous emotional, physical and psychological benefits. It strengthens bonds, enhances intimacy and promotes well-being. Below are some key benefits and insights into the optimal time needed to maximise the effects:



Benefits of Cuddling:


1. Releases Oxytocin ("The Love Hormone")❤


Oxytocin release during cuddling promotes feelings of love, trust, and security.


It reduces stress levels and fosters deeper emotional connection.



2. Reduces Stress and Anxiety 🤗


Cuddling lowers cortisol (stress hormone) levels.


Physical touch calms the nervous system, helping both partners feel more relaxed and supported.



3. Improves Sleep 😴


The calming effects of oxytocin can enhance sleep quality, particularly for people who struggle with insomnia or anxiety.

15-20 MINUTES: Increases oxytocin significantly, boosting emotional connection and mood.


5-10 MINUTES: Post-sex cuddling post enhances intimacy and satisfaction in relationships.



Incorporating cuddling into your daily routine, whether in the morning, during a film, or before bed, can ensure lasting positive effects on your relationship and overall well-being.



HOW ABOUT A QUICKIE?



We can also benefit from a quick hug. Here are some examples :



Morning Hug (1-2 minutes):


Start the day with a close hug or lying intertwined before getting out of bed. This can set a positive emotional tone for the day.



Goodbye Hug (30 seconds to 1 minute):


A warm, lingering hug before heading out the door strengthens emotional security.


Add a forehead kiss or hand squeeze for extra intimacy.



TV/Relaxation Cuddles: 🎬


Curl up together on the couch while watching a show.


Resting your head on their chest or intertwining legs works well.
